“Quiet Delight”
The artist say,” Why am I fascinated by the "Farthest Scene" this much? The reason
why Scotland captures my heart is because this "Farthest Scene e"xits. I addtransformations to the submodality, the components used by people to recognizethe five senses, using photography. By dropping the submodalit yt,he feelings omen stops and heads toward the inner part of the heart. Sttilhl, e place to stay is notthe "bottom". It is slightly above that. Using music as an example "It is the volume of listening to Miles Davis『's Blue in Green』before going to sleep in the bedroom".And when settle to that place, the journey of the heart begin Ts.he "Farthest Scene"spreads in my heart.”
『Quiet Delight』
作者は云う、僕は何故こんなに「果ての風景」に心を奪われるのだろう？僕は、人が五感を通じて認識する際に使用した様々な構成要素（サブモダリティ）に、写真を使って変化を加える。サブモダリティを落としていく。すると人の気持ちは静まり、心の奥へと向かう。しかし留まる位置は「底」ではなく、そのちょっと上。音楽に例えれば「寝る前にベッドルームでマイルス・デイビスの『Blue in Green』を聴く音量」だ。そしてその場所に落ち着くとき、心の旅は始まる。心の中に「果ての風景」が広がる。

三宅道子展 心のセルフポートレート
Studying Glass-working at California College of Arts and Crafts, Miyake went on to achieve her M.F.A. at Rhode Island School of Design, graduatin gwith high distinction. Other studies include contemporary art aesthetics R. eturning to Japan she exhibited works from her Translucent Shadows series' yearl ybetween 1996 and 2002. Harmonic Word Overtones ‒ Cocoon of Light embodies hr efirst exhibition of new work in ten years. Drawings and words. Drawings and prints, Prints and photos. Maiyke’ s delicate sensitivity of technique, cultivated through her molding of glsas, coupled with this linking-together of methods has given us an undeniable 'self-portrait of the heart'.
カルフォルニア美術工芸大学でガラス工芸を学び、ロードアイランド・スクールオブデザイン大学院ガラス科卒業。現代美術の美術哲学を学ぶ。帰国後「Translucent Shadows 半透明の影 」と題して1996 年から2002 年まで毎年個展を開催して作品を発表し続けてきた。今年10 年ぶりの新作展『ことばのばいおんひかりのまゆ』を開催する運びとなった。言葉とドローイング。ドローイングと版画。版画と写真。造形で培った繊細なテクニックとあいまって、手法の連鎖によって現れるものは紛れもなく彼女の「心のセルフポートレート」である。

Kiiro展 コラージュで描いたコスモスの原風景・キイロの世界Ⅱ
"Elegance of Silence" is the landscape of cosmos of the heartr adwn by a up-and-coming artist, Kiiro. The origin of the title is a quo toef a verse "If it is hidden, it is a flower; if it's not hidden, it is not the Flower" of "Fuskhaiden", a Japanese classic
aesthetic by Zeami, a Noh author of Japan. Like Noh, where 100 different stories by 100 different people a rbeorn by the imagination of the viewer, the interpretation of the works don eby Kiiro would certainly vary.
Kiiro picks out the infinite hope and possibilities in this flowr,e and face the cosmos today by projecting himself.
『Elegance of Silence』は、新進作家 Kiiro が描いたコスモスの原風景である。 タイトルの由来は、日本の能作者・世阿弥の日本古典美学として知られる『風 姿花伝』の一節「秘すれば花なり、秘せずは花なるべからず」から引用さ れている。 鑑賞者のイマジネーションを拡げて百人百通りのストーリーが生まれる能 のように、Kiiro が描く作品もまた個々に受け取る解釈は様々に違いない。 Kiiro はこの花に無限の希望と可能性を見いだし、自身を投影させながらコ スモスと今日も向き合っている。

Our exhibition for this summer 2012 will be titled “Director’ s Choice vol.2” and will be showcasing・selling art works of the selected 6 artists of EMON PHOTO GALLERY.
Celebrating theEMON’ s 8th year, Nils Udo’s work which became the starting point of our concept, this is an exhibition of one’ sown point of view and originality.
2012 年夏の展覧会は「Director’s Choice vol.2」と題し、エモンフォトギャラリー に所属する 6 名の選りすぐったアーティストの作品を展示・販売致します。 今年 8 年目を迎えたエモンの、その原点となった Nils Udo の作品を始め、 独自の視点とオリジナリティに溢れた作家をご紹介します。

横須賀功光展 常に新しい事に挑んだ写真家・横須賀功光の軌跡。
Born in 1937 in Yokohama, a graduate of Nihon University majoring in photography. Yokosuka started to make a figure of him during his student days workingforShiseido,andlaterplayedanactiveroleasafreelancer.Shiseido’ s poster became a monumental achievement by meeting a great public response, pioneering fashion photography and serious photo thereafter. Like the quote, “He was the first photographer who I felt jealousy” by Nobuyoshi Araki, Yokosuka was indeed a genius of taking pictures who was inimitable by others.
These works are the tracks of photography art by Noriaki Yokosuka who kept challenging the new at all times, calmly burnished his inner-eye throughout lifetime distinguishing itself from the world of photo advertisement.
1937 年横浜生まれ、日大芸術学部写真学卒。学生時代に資生堂の仕事を手 掛けて頭角を現し、卒業後はフリーとなって活躍する。資生堂のポスター は次々と反響を呼んで瞬く間に広告写真の金字塔となり、その後も飛ぶ鳥 を落とす勢いでファッションフォト、シリアスフォトを先駆した。ここに ご紹介する作品は、広告写真の世界とは一線を画した写真家・横須賀巧光 が生涯をかけて心眼を冷徹に磨き、常に新しい事に挑んだ写真芸術の軌跡 である。

藤原更展 自然界の幾何学的な法則の中に視た「美」と「理」。
Since 2000, photo artist Sarah Fujiwara has been working setting base in France. Fujiwara’ snewestwork,Neuma,displayinganoriginalview,hasbecomeherfirst exhibition in Tokyo. Neuma is a symbol used in the medieval hymn. Fujiwara chooses her method of creation to be shooting with an large-format instant film with no manipulation. The soft tone of the work, Neuma, could be seen as abstract art. This, however, is an undoubted straight photo. As it is noticeable from the title, chipping off information and observing the object by symbolizing it is an interesting approach.
2000 年以降フランスを拠点に創作活動を行ってきた藤原更。独特の世界観 を示す最新作『Neuma』は、東京で初めての個展となった。 Neuma とは、中世の聖歌などの記譜に使われた記号のこと。 藤原は大判インスタントフィルムで写し、加工もしないリアルタイムな制 作方法をとっている。作品『Neuma』のトーンは柔らかで一見抽象絵画と 見まごうが、実は紛れもないストレートフォト。タイトルから伺えるように、 情報を削ぎ落とし事物を記号化して見るアプローチは興味深い。

古賀絵里子展 「浅草善哉」言葉にできない、大切な何かがそこにある。
We are pleased to announce the exhibition "Asakusa- Zenzai" by a photographer Eriko Koga which will be held in 4 years from the last show. Koga captured the real essence of married couple she has almost drawn to meet in this series. Shecontinuedtovisittheirplaceafterhersoloshowof"AsakusaZenzai" in2008 and by photographing them from the encounter with them to the parting,she has become a witness that they lived their life in there. 
この度、EMON PHOTO GALLERY では約 4 年ぶりとなる古賀絵里子による 個展『浅草善哉』を開催致します。引き寄せられるように出会ったとある 浅草の長屋に住む老夫婦の姿を描き出した本作。 2008 年に開催した個展『浅草善哉』の後もその長屋へ通い、まさに彼らと の出会いから別れまでを撮ることで、ある二人の夫婦がそこに生きたとい うことの証人となりました。
